Different-colour eyes in Dogs


Everybody knows the common pet is dog,isn't it? There are many types, genes, and colours around the world ,but the most interesting thing is the dog has different eyes colours. Can you imagine the dog has one eye blue and another is brown? At first I could not imagine also, until i have seen them by my self at the biggest farm in Thailand. I was really surprised and wondered how they could have eyes different colour eyes. I am interested in that and want to find the real answer and more information about those of them by any ways.


In this character is called heterochromia , and according to Slater's Fundamentals of Veterinary Ophthalmology. Moreover, heterochromia is a term used to describe variations in iris's coloured portion of the eye. Heterochromia is also used to describe a multi-coloured irises; this condition can appear in dogs and cats.


In particularly,different colour's irises are common in many dogs and cats breeds such as Siberian Huskies, Great Danes, Siamese cat and White jewel cat.
